Seit Beginn der Beta-Phase von Google+ streiten sich die Auguren um die Usability-Qualität von Google+ (mittlerweile ist die Meinung ziemlich einhellig positiv), um die [Marktchancen gegen Facebook](https://blog.hdnet.de/2011-07/google-plus-versus-facebook-wie-stehen-die-chancen/) oder um die Veränderungen, die Google+ in den Bereich der Suchmaschinenoptimierung einbringt. Im Prinzip basiert all das oben genannte auf Spekulation – mal mehr und mal weniger fundiert. Mittlerweile schwirren die ersten fundierteren Zahlen durchs Netz. Das Marktforschungsunternehmen ComScore spricht von [25 Millionen Besuchern](http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/g/a/2011/08/02/bloomberg1376-LPB7FF6JTSE901-1Q6GKD15D1B29DA2H6H02TNJ7J.DTL) – im ersten Monat. Bloomberg führte eine Studie durch, nach der Google+ innerhalb des nächsten Jahres Twitter und LinkedIn überholt und dann schon über [20 Prozent der Online-Amerikaner](http://www.businessweek.com/technology/google-may-pass-twitter-with-onefifth-of-us-adults-online-08052011.html) einen Account haben werden. Über das gleichnamige SEO-Tool Sistrix hat die Bonner Firma untersucht, wie [stark die Social Media-Buttons](http://www.sistrix.de/news/995-verbreitung-von-google-plus.html) der Social Networks verbreitet sind. „Marktführer“ ist, na klar, Facebook. Google+ konnte jedoch Twitter in der Anzahl der installierten Buttons überholen. Zu diesen enormen Zuwächsen in allen möglichen Bereichen führt Google auch haufenweise neue Features ein. Nicht nur in Google+, fast alle Änderungen zielen aber klar auf Google+ als zukünftigen Kern der Google-Familie ab. In den letzten Monaten konnte man den Eindruck eines schlafenden Riesen bekommen, jetzt geht es Schlag auf Schlag. Räumten wir Google+ vor einem Monat schon recht ordentliche Chancen ein, so hat sich dieser Eindruck verstärkt. Die Ingenieure von Google arbeiten fokussiert und stringent an einem zentralen Thema: Social und Search sollen verschmolzen werden. Das Universum der Google-Apps dient dabei als Brennstoff. Wir sind schon sehr gespannt, wie sich die Lage in ein paar Monaten darstellt – im nächsten Zwischenstand.
