Ziel ist es dass der Benutzer das Portal für folgende Zwecke nutzt: - Austauschforum - Wissenspool - Berufsnetzwerk Um den vollen Funktionsumfang bei möglichst geringem Aufwand garantieren zu können, wurde das bestehende System der Firma [Avedas AG](http://www.avedas.com/de/) „Converis“ beibehalten und um unser [Social Network Software](http://www.hdnet.de/leistungenprodukte/social-network-software/) Suricata erweitert. Um dies zu gewährleisten war eine enge Zusammenarbeit mit der [Avedas AG](http://www.avedas.com/de/) notwendig. Zur Umsetzung gehört ein Single Sign-on zwischen dem Converis Portal und Suricata und eine Restserver API auf beiden Seiten. Diese sind für den Zugriff  auf die Inhalte des jeweiligen anderen Systems unerlässlich. Um dem Benutzer einen nahtlosen Übergang zwischen Social Network und Bibliotheksportal zu präsentieren wurde das Design der bestehenden Seite übernommen und in modernes XHTML überführt. Um allen gestellten Anforderungen gerecht zu werden musste Suricata um diverse Funktionen erweitert werden. Hierzu gehören: - Dokumentenveraltung und -versionierung - ACL Rechteverwaltung der Dokumente - durchsuchen der Dokumente mit Lucene - Verknüpfung mit einer [MediaWiki](http://www.mediawiki.org/) Instanz Zur Umsetzung der Dokumentverwaltung und allen weiteren Funktionen wurde auf Funktionen des [Zend Framworks](http://framework.zend.com/) zurückgegriffen. Verwendet wurden die Module [Zend\_File](http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.file.html),  [Zend\_Acl](http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.acl.html) und [Zend\_Search\_Lucene](http://framework.zend.com/manual/en/zend.search.lucene.html). Die Integration mit dem MediaWiki erfolgte wiederum durch ein Single Sign-on.
